  1. Install the current Betaflight App

    Use the official release and a data-capable USB cable.

  2. Remove propellers

    Any bench work involving motors or power begins with propellers removed.

  3. Record the identity

    Note firmware version, board target and hardware; photograph wiring.

  4. Create a backup

    Save the supported backup or CLI diff/dump for the installed version.

  5. Resolve warnings

    Confirm receiver movement, modes, motor order, failsafe and orientation before arming.
